For all volunteer events we ask that you please dress according to the weather, please refrain from wearing open-toed shoes and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint or stain on while helping with a painting or staining project. Water and snacks will be provided at each volunteer event.
Year-Round Volunteer Opportunities
- Alamance Parks Beautification Team Lead and Volunteers
- We are seeking team leaders and volunteers for the newly created Friends of Alamance Parks Beautification group. The group lead will help organize park cleanup events and communicate with the group of volunteers regarding cleanup logistics.
- If you have ideas and feel called to serve as the team lead, or would simply like to volunteer, contact: Barbara Montanero at barbara.montanero@alamancecountync.gov.
- Youth Athletics Coaching
- Volunteer coaches are needed for youth sports including football, basketball and baseball.

- Trail Building at Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area
- New volunteers are invited to join the group, which generally meets on Monday mornings at 9am. No experience is necessary, and tools will be provided.
- Volunteering is coordinated through the Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area Volunteers

- Trail Building along the Haw River Trail/Mountains-to-Sea Trail
- New volunteers are invited to join the group, which generally meets on the third Saturday of the month (except during July and August). No experience is necessary, and tools will be provided.
- Volunteering is coordinated through Alamance Task Force of the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail (FMST) and Friends of Alamance Parks – Trails.
